Your Career Shouldn't Become Public Just Because You're Curious.
Career curiosity should not require career exposure. PSLN gives public service professionals a confidential way to explore agencies, compare opportunities, and control when their identity is released.
Always free for professionals. Your identity is protected from the moment you sign up.
The Risk of Looking Is the Reason Most Don't
Experienced public service professionals often want to understand another agency before starting a formal hiring process. But concern about current employer discovery, reputation, and premature commitment keeps them from exploring. PSLN removes that risk.
What You Can Discover
Information shown depends on what each agency has provided. Not every agency has completed every field.
Candidate-Controlled, By Default
Agencies can initially see
- Anonymous candidate ID
- Professional path
- Experience range
- Broad specialty experience
- Career goals
- Geographic interests
- Desired role type
Never shown unless you release it
- Name
- Photo
- Current agency / department
- Certification numbers
- Resume
- Phone
- References
- Exact identifying details
Your identity is not released unless you approve disclosure to a specific agency.
Confidential Conversations, Not Cold Applications
Receive interest
Agencies send structured interest requests. You see the agency, the message, and the opportunity — without revealing your identity.
Approve or decline
You approve, decline, or let requests expire. Approving opens a confidential message thread — not identity release.
Release on your terms
Identity release is a separate step you control. You decide when and to whom your name, resume, and contact information are shared.
What Candidates Ask Most
Can I look without my current employer knowing?
Yes. PSLN never contacts your current employer. You can also block your current employer from ever seeing your profile. Your presence on PSLN is confidential by default.
What can I learn before applying?
When provided by the agency, you can explore mission, culture, compensation, benefits, schedule, specialty units, training, career pathways, hiring timeline, and more — through Agency Profiles and the Opportunity Blueprint.
Who controls my identity?
You do. Agencies see only an anonymous candidate ID, professional path, experience range, and career interests. Your name, photo, current employer, and contact information are never shown until you choose to release them to a specific agency.
Can I ask questions before applying?
Yes. Through Ask Before You Apply, you can ask agencies questions before committing to a formal application. You can also receive and respond to agency interest requests confidentially.
What happens when I'm ready?
When you choose to move forward, PSLN connects you to the agency's existing formal application process. PSLN does not submit applications for you. The formal hiring process remains entirely with the agency.

This guided walkthrough uses the Law Enforcement career path as an example to show how a public-service professional selects a path, begins building a confidential profile, explores agencies, and remains in control of identity release throughout the pre-application process.
Demonstration data only. All candidate and agency information shown in this walkthrough is fictional or presented solely for illustrative purposes. Creating a PSLN profile is not a formal job application. Formal applications, background investigations, testing, and hiring decisions remain within each agency’s official process.
PSLN Does Not Force You to Apply
PSLN is a pre-application connection platform. No formal application is submitted through PSLN. When you're ready, PSLN connects you to the agency's existing formal application process. The decision is always yours.
